MALACAŅAN PALACE announced through the Official Gazette, the enactment of
Repulic Act No. 11827,

AN ACT RENAMING THE LOBOG BRIDGE, TRAVERSING BARANGAY PANALSALAN IN THE MUNICIPALITY OF PLARIDEL, PROVINCE OF MISAMIS OCCIDENTAL, AS
ALFONSO BURLAT APDUJAN BRIDGE

If you are not familiar with the location of LOBOG BRIDGE, going from Oroquieta City to Plaridel, this is the bridge right after the Plaridel Community Hospital and the Provincial Training Center in Panalsalan.

There are actually two bridge structures, Bridge 1 - Oroquieta Bound and Bridge 2 - Calamba Bound.

The bridge is renamed to honor the memory of ALFONSO BURLAT APDUJAN, the "El Presidente" (mayor) of Plaridel in the early 1900's.

The great-granddaughters of Alfonso Burlat Apdujan who spearheaded the effort to rename the bridge and the congressman who made it possible:

Minnihaha secured the required resolutions from Barangay Panalsalan, Sangguniang Bayan of Plaridel and the Sangguniang Panlalawigan of Misamis Occ.

Dr. Buena Fe Apdujan-Apepe

Buena Fe made representations with the 1st Dristrict Congressman of Misamis Occ. DIEGO "Nonoy" TY to rename the bridge through legislation.

Congressman Diego "Nonoy" Ty

Congressman Nonoy Ty immediately filed House Bill No. 6260 which was later approved by the House, the Senate and eventually became a law, Republic Act No. 11827.
