June 23, 2022 was my 76th birthday. Considering that my father and grandfather passed away before they were fifty, age seventy-six is a longevity bonus many times over.
My children booked a room with two tables at the Kimpura Greenhills, San Juan, a Japanese restaurant where the food is cooked right in front of us.
After about three hours of eating and talking and bonding with the family, it was time to sing Happy Birthday, blow the candle and then call it a night.
But my children were not done yet. They wanted us to go to another mall nearby for coffee and dessert.
My eldest daughter, Millete insisted that we all go to the carpark and leave Greenhills together. While walking to our car, Millete stopped me, greeted me "Happy Birthday" again and gave me a small box. She wanted me to open it right away, so I did. It was a car key. The rest is recorded in the video below.
I was surprised as everyone else was. Only Millete and my two grandchildren knew about the best gift I ever received in my lifetime. Then picture taking again.
I must have done something good to deserve this. It's not the car really, but the feeling of being loved. Can't wish for anything more.
