We needed all the help we can get from everyone, especially the heads of families, to submit all available information on family members (such as full names & nicknames, date of birth/death, spouses of children, wedding dates, present address, contact numbers, email & social media accounts, photographs, etc.).

The bill was immediately enrolled and scheduled for First Reading. After approval, it was then referred to the Committee on Public Works.

Dr. Buena Fe Apdujan-Apepe, a great granddaughter of Alfonso Burlat Apdujan, wrote Rep Diego "Nonoy" C. Ty to seek his assistance in the renaming of the Lobog Bridge to "ALFONSO BURLAT APDUJAN BRIDGE" through legislation. She hand-carried the letter to the office of Rep. Ty in Congress.

Attached to the letter were the resolutions of the Sangguniang Bayan ng Plaridel and the Sangguniang Panlalawigan ng Misamis Occidental.

The Americans immediately established their own colonial government in 1901. Some of the features of the Spanish system in the local government structure were preserved, notably the position of mayor or town president (El Presidente, as he was called).

One of the bigger towns of Misamis was Langaran, renamed Plaridel in 1907. The town president of Plaridel in 1913 was one Alfonso Burlat Apdujan. Who was he?

We are all familiar with the legend of the White Lady, a popular ghost story, relayed from generation to generation in many countries around the world. While there is no solid evidence that any of these spooky stories have any substance in truth whatsoever, this hasn’t stopped people from retelling them over and over.

The Philippines has its share of White Lady stories, foremost of which is the lady who walks along Balete Drive in New Manila, Quezon City. This one is about the White Lady of our town, Plaridel, Misamis Occidental.

What A Difference 50 Years Make

I was able to catch the tail end of the Oscar Awards presentation on Wednesday morning, just when Faye Dunaway and Warren Beatty were called to present the Best Picture Award. They were given the honor of awarding the final Oscar of the night to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the movie they starred in 1967, Bonnie and Clyde.

As I watched them walk to the podium and started speaking, I can't help but notice how they aged, how slow they moved and spoke.
