While filming his movie "Rust" on Thursday, October 21, Alec Baldwin fired a prop gun that injured the director and killed another crew member. The incident occurred at the Bonanza Creek Ranch in Santa Fe, New Mexico.

Mr Baldwin was seen “in tears” outside the sheriff’s office on Thursday night. The visibly distressed actor was seen dressed in a navy T-shirt, holding a mask and doubled over in the office’s car parking while talking on a phone call, pictures shared on social media showed.

Police officials said that Mr Baldwin has been cooperative in the investigation which remained “open and active” but no charges have been filed so far.

I was watching a streaming movie the other night where the phrase “cousin twice removed” was mentioned. I already have a faint idea of what it meant, but just to be sure, I googled it up. There are a lot materials about cousins and family relationships. I'm sharing the information here, in case you are also curious what the term (and many more) meant.

Cousins are people who share a common ancestor that is at least 2 generations away, such as a grandparent or great-grandparent. You and your siblings are not cousins because your parents are only 1 generation away from you. So who are your cousins?

Androcles and the Lion

If you know this story, you must have been in grade school in the 1950's, same as me. Maybe this was one of those fables written by Aesop. It's about gratitude and it's worth re-telling.

Androcles (in Latin, Androclus in Greek) was a slave who escaped from his master and fled into the forest. As he was wandering about there, he came upon an injured lion lying down moaning and groaning, with a thorn stuck in his paw. The kind Androcles plucked out the thorn and put the lion out of pain

Light Railway Transit Construction

The progress of the construction is covered by several vloggers, who call themselves "LRT Boys", with daily videos and live updates. The principal character of the story is the mighty Rustum, who, mounted on his famous horse Ruksh, performed prodigies of valor in defense of the Persian throne.

Of all his adventures, his encounter with Sohrab is the most dramatic. Sohrab was the young champion of the Tartars, the enemy of the Persians.

Rustum dueled with Sohrab, mortally wounding him before he realized Sohrab was his son.
